Worship, Prayer and Stewardship
In real worship we discover anew that God’s thoughts and ways far exceed our own. Worship is the nucleus of church activities. Everything the church believes, does and tries to achieve revolves around its responsiveness to God’s greatness in worship. Children who learn to meet God in His Word discover new meaning in prayer, singing, preaching and giving. God becomes more real and the Bible more exciting as we interrupt daily routines to lift our hearts in worship to God. Our motives must be to please God and glorify Him alone. Boys and girls can understand the difference between the emptiness of routine formality and the vibrant and personal involvement of the mind, emotions and will to adore the eternal God. Worship leads to obedient actions that glorify God. It should lead to personal enrichment and spiritual strength to help the believer carry the burdens and fight the battles of life. We do not worship God for what we can get out of it, but we worship because He is worthy of worship. True worship transforms our lives. Emphasizing the glory of God instead of our own spiritual conditions opens our spirits to the power of His Spirit. We reveal an increasing glory that causes others to see Christ and honor Him. Prayer is such a significant part of Christian living that children just beginning their walk with the Lord must know its value. It is probably the most neglected aspect of spiritual growth because of our busy schedules. Prayer time gets bumped in the rush of daily priorities. Children need confidence that prayer makes a difference in life because they can talk to the living God who has all power. Communication with God is a continual process during the day, not just repeating memorized prayer poems at mealtimes and before going to bed. For prayer to be meaningful to your learners it must have importance in your own life. During this unit especially, practice having a special time each day to talk to God. As you see Him make things happen for which you pray, your teaching ministry will intensify in spiritual depth. Believing that prayer can help is the beginning of an intimate fellowship with God. The lessons in this unit are examples of prayer that made a difference. Young learners will enjoy the exciting experience of having their prayers answered, but to receive answers, they must pray.

Wow!
God Chose To Become a Man!Jesus’ incarnation in the flesh to come into the world to establish man’s redemption was essential for the lost to be saved. Since God is Spirit and invisible, Jesus had to take on a physical form to walk upon the earth among men; thus, He was born of Mary, a virgin, and lived the life of a human during His time on earth, yet, without sin.
The goal is to lead young teens to a better understanding of how man’s redemption was made possible and to lead the lost to repentance and salvation and a vital church connection in which they can give honor and glory to Jesus Christ our Lord.

What baptists believe
Doctrines That Make a DifferenceOur perspective greatly influences everything we see. If you were on a mountaintop looking down, you would get quite a different view than if you were deep in a valley looking up. This is as true spiritually as it is physically.
For many people, the view they have of humanity is that human beings are basically good, but they are subject to evil influences. That is, we have a good center or core, but sometimes we lose our bearings and go in wrong directions. This viewpoint and philosophy will lead us to treat others in a certain way.
The Bible view of humanity is different. The Bible teaches that mankind is basically sinful. At the core of every person there is a heart of sin, and man must deal with his sinful heart to do good. This is not to say that bad people don’t occasionally do good things; instead, it is saying that all are sinners who need to be saved, not good people who just need a tune-up.
Jesus did not come to give a checkup to people who were otherwise healthy. He came as the Great Physician to save everyone who was sick and dying in sin. This doctrine is sometimes called total hereditary depravity. Your viewpoint makes a real difference in your life. It will influence how you treat Christ and how you treat other people.

A Revelation of God’s Grace
A Study in EphesiansQUARTERLY AIM: The student will realize the presence of the grace of God in the life of a child of God and will be moved to Christ honoring conduct in his daily life.
Written by the apostle Paul from a lonely prison cell, the book of Ephesians furnishes a storehouse of spiritual resources for twenty-first century churches. The understanding and application of God’s grace is a key purpose of this epistle. Paul used the word grace twelve times in Ephesians. Grace is found at least once in chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. Throughout this study we will learn various ways God revealed His grace to His people. Love is another strong theme in Ephesians. He used the word fourteen times, at least once in each chapter. Jews and Gentiles in the church were to love each other with Christ’s love. This love found its source in God and was to be manifested toward Him and fellow saints.
Paul established the church at Ephesus on his third missionary journey, spending nearly three years among them (Acts 19:1—20:1). At the end of his third missionary journey, on his way to Jerusalem, Paul stopped at Miletus and called for the elders of the Ephesian church to meet with him. During this meeting Paul reviewed his ministry with them, warning them of false teachers from within and without, who would threaten to divide the church (Acts 20:29, 30). Their affection for the apostle was deep as “they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him, sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more” (Acts 20:37, 38).
The Ephesian church was one of the seven churches of Asia about which the apostle John wrote in the book of Revelation. It is noteworthy by that time, the Ephesian church had succeeded in keeping out false teachers (Rev. 2:2), but had lost the fervency of their first love for Christ (Rev. 2:4, 5).
We are indebted to Paul’s writing in the book of Ephesians for inspired insight on subjects like Christian unity, ministry, salvation, maturity, sober living, Christian homes and godly relationships. Thanks to this epistle we may understand the scope of God’s eternal purposes and grace in this life.
