60th Street Baptist Church in Pinellas Park Fl is actively seeking a full-time pastor. Candidate must be called by God and equipped to effectively preach and teach the Word of God. The candidate must possess the biblical and spiritual qualities as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, I Peter 5:1-4, and Titus 1:5-9. Must be able to fulfill the congregations’ spiritual needs.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Pastor shall preach the Gospel regularly, administer the ordinances of the Church, act as a moderator at all Church meetings, and supervise the ministries of the Church.
The Pastor shall follow the church Constitution and By-Laws. He shall inform all newly elected officers of the functions and responsibilities of their respective offices. He shall extend the right hand of fellowship to all new members on behalf of the Church and perform such other duties as generally related to such a position. The Pastor shall arrange for speakers and special meetings. In his absence, he will be responsible for securing pulpit supply.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Meet the qualifications of a pastor found in I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and I Peter 5:1-4
Be a minister in the Baptist faith, elevating our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
State his salvation, doctrine, Christian conduct and call to the ministry, acceptance of
and adherence to the Covenant, Articles of Faith, and Constitution of this church.
Be a visionary with sound judgment and discernment operating in the spirit of unity
Have a minimum of five years (preferred) of pastoral experience.
Possess effective communication skills (written and oral).
Growth oriented and pastoral care capability.
Committed to continuing education and development.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with a congregation across all ages and gender.
Possess effective administration skills and able to organize and lead staff.
Missionary minded.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Abide by the Covenant, Articles of Faith, and Constitution of this church.
The Pastor’s term of office shall be indefinite. When either the Church or the Pastor
decides to make vacant this office, thirty-day notice must be given unless a shorter
notice is agreed upon.
The Pastor may be dismissed upon being found guilty of gross sin, criminal acts, or heresy.
Dismissal shall be in accordance with the Scriptures as found in Matthew
18:15-17 and I Timothy 5:1, 17-19, and described in church By-laws.
