PORT BYRON, NEW YORK MAY 2022
MY MISSIONARY REPORT
For May 2022
Greetings from the Bible Belt of North Central, Finger Lakes Region, in sunny down town Port Byron, New York, what once was a part of the Erie Canal system, just 25 miles South of Lake Toronto. Summer is here! “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” Psalm 68:19.
Mavis took a tumble up the steps 4 weeks ago, had to be taken for x rays and the doctors found she has bursitis in her shoulders and arthritis in her lower, the later being the cause for the fall. So, we had to find a wheel chair, crutches, and a bathroom chair, which the Lord provided, Bless His name forever. However, I forgot to pray for a chief cook and bottle washer, laundry person, and house cleaner. So, guess who was all those above and more. That’s right. Me. I learned to appreciate the saying, “A woman’s work is never done.” After 3 weeks of Mavis “milking it,” she began to walk about the house correcting my “putting things off for another day when she is better.” For you men, the rug is not a good hiding place for dirt. She is now doing physical therapy 2 times a week for the next 5 weeks. She is doing much better, though she still has pain.
We had 2 very special visits from different folks from our sponsoring church. It was a joy and a blessing to have them here. We will be going there in mid-July to see the whole crew from First MBC in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. Can’t wait. Hope the gas prices go down before then. Tongue in cheek on all that.
Mother’s Day and Memorial Day were precious times as we celebrated God’s gift of godly mothers; and remembrance of all those who gave their lives for this country.
We have all our garden planted now. Mavis saw these boxes, waist high, so she had me build her a bunch, so she wouldn’t have to bend over. So I built a mess of them with the wood from my limber pile. They work great. So I built some more. Now 90% of our garden is in boxes. Glad I had all that lumber laying around, did you see the cost of lumber? A 2x4x8 is $6.95 at Home Depot.
Most folks are doing well. Fred went through his first surgery well. He is now waiting for the next one. Please pray.
June is tomorrow. Oh what will it bring? More daily benefits from our Lord I am sure. FYI: gas is now $4.89 a gallon, and diesel is $6.49.
Continue to pray for our Visitation please. We had a first time visitor because of it.
Please keep us continually in prayer. The Devil is active in some of our families and elsewhere. We appreciate all your prayers. Thank you for loving the people of our Mission field.
The folks from New Horizon Baptist send their love and appreciation.
